Guest Chef Night

A weekly highlight for the FareStart community is Thursday Guest Chef Night, held at the FareStart Restaurant at 7th & Virginia. For FareStart students, it is a unique opportunity to work with Seattle's premier chefs. For FareStart supporters, it's a great opportunity to enjoy an excellent meal, introduce new supporters to the organization, or volunteer.  Since 1994, Guest Chef Night has raised more than $4.5 million, revenue which has gone directly back into our program to support our student job training and placement services.

Guest Chef Night Program
Every Thursday night, a different Guest Chef works with the students to prepare a three-course meal at the FareStart Restaurant. Guest Chef Night has been called "Seattle's best food lover’s event," and for just $29.95 it's one of the city’s best values. Community volunteers serve our guests who enjoy great food in support of FareStart and our students.

A very special part of the evening is our student graduation.  FareStart’s culinary training is based on a rolling 16-week schedule and each week we have an average of 3 students graduate.  At 7 p.m., we introduce these students and celebrate their accomplishments. 

Guest Chef Night is open to the public and reservations are strongly suggestedPlease note: due to the short graduation ceremony, reservations at 7:00 and 7:15 p.m. are not available. For last minute requests, please call (206) 267-7601 to check for availability.

  • Three-course Guest Chef Night meals are $29.95. The price does not include tax, beverage, or gratuity. Wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase.
  • We are happy to accommodate large parties. Please speak with our Reservationist to make arrangements: (206) 267-7601 or
  • Parties of 8 or more will be asked to hold their reservation with a credit card. We ask that you use one form of payment and an automatic 18% gratuity will apply. 
  • The atmosphere of Guest Chef Night is festive, but not formal. "Business casual" attire is appropriate. 
  • Vegetarian options are always available. Please let us know when you make your reservation if you would prefer the vegetarian option. 
  • Visa, MasterCard, American Express, personal check, cash, and FareStart Gift Cards are accepted.
